Because of its unique physical and chemical characteristics, quartz sand occupies a very important position in aviation, aerospace, electronics, machinery and today's rapidly developing IT industry.  The following molten quartz sand manufacturer, Xinhaotai Xiaobian, explains the relevant knowledge of quartz sand for everyone.

Relevant knowledge of quartz sand is as follows:

1. Quartz sand is Shi Ying particles formed by crushing quartz stone. Quartz stone is also called silica. It is a silicate mineral with very hard texture, abrasion resistance and stable chemical properties. It exists in the state of Shi Ying sandstone, quartzite and vein Shi Ying in nature.  Sandstone in Shi Ying is a consolidated clastic rock, and the clastic content in Shi Ying is as high as over 95%. Its source is various magmatic rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks, and it contains less heavy minerals. Associated minerals are feldspar, mica, clay and other minerals.  Quartzite can be divided into two forms: sedimentary genesis and metamorphic genesis. The former refers to quartz ore with deep metamorphic grade and pure quality. Vein Shi Ying is formed by hydrothermal process, almost entirely composed of Shi Ying, and its structure is compact block structure.

2. The mineral content in quartz sand varies greatly, mainly Shi Ying, followed by feldspar, mica, cuttings, heavy minerals, clay minerals, etc.

3. Quartz sand is a kind of hard, wear-resistant and chemically stable silicate mineral. Its main mineral component is SiO2. Its color is milky white or colorless translucent, hardness is 7, brittleness without cleavage, conchoidal fracture, grease luster, density is 2.65, bulk density is 1-20 mesh, 1.6, 20-200 mesh, 1.5. Its chemical, thermal and mechanical properties are obviously anisotropic, insoluble in acid, but slightly soluble in KOH solution, melting point is 1750℃.

4. Common specifications of quartz sand are: 0.5-1mm, 1-2mm, 2-4mm, 4-8mm, 8-16mm, 16-32mm, 10-20 mesh, 20-40 mesh, 40-70 mesh, 70-140 mesh.
